Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan (Global UGRAD in Pakistan)

Applications are now available for institutions interested in being considered as a host for the 2012-2013 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan. The university host application, program addendum and instructions can be downloaded below. Please complete both the UGRAD Host Institution, General Application, and the Global UGARD - Pakistan Addendum to apply for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan. 

Completed applications are due by 5pm EST on Friday, March 30, 2012, and may be e-mailed (ugradpakistan@irex.org), faxed (202-628-8189, ATTN: Global UGRAD-Pakistan), or mailed (ATTN: Global UGRAD-Pakistan) to the IREX address at the bottom of this page.

IREX welcomes applications from all institutions of higher education able to provide an intensive, dynamic, and high-quality undergraduate education and a memorable cultural experience.

The Global UGRAD in Pakistan program provides the following:

• J-1 Visa Support
• Round-trip travel from fellow’s home city to host institution in the United States
• Accident and sickness coverage
• Tuition and mandatory university fees
• Room and board (housing and meals)
• Small incidentals allowance
• Cultural enrichment funds
• Limited allowance for books
• Alumni networking and training opportunities

Eligibility

Host institutions will be selected based on the following:

• their demonstrated ability to provide a well-rounded program experience (with strong academic and cultural components)

• the qualifications of their proposed campus coordinator and their ability to provide personalized care

• the institution’s experience and ability to work with students from Pakistan

• the institution’s ability to engage fellows in the local community

• the proposed cost-share and per student cost.

Host institutions will be responsible for providing each fellow with academic support; cultural and community support; and logistical support. Responsibilities are explained in more detail in the complete Host Application Instructions.
